The great thing about Jasper National Park is that there are so many things to photograph besides wildlife and gorgeous landscapes (there’s more than enough of those to keep you occupied for a lifetime!). With the midday sun keeping most wildlife out of sight and creating stark landscapes, this group of pines caught my attention. The texture of the bark and the reddish core contrasted nicely with the sky (the assistance of a circular polarizing filter was used). I left (forgot!) the tripod in the vehicle so Cam gets credit for keeping everything steady.
