It’s been far too long since we’ve hoisted a lens and photographed anything so an opportunity to dust off the gear and explore a new park (at least to us) was too good to pass up. We spent the Sunday of the May long weekend in Alberta’s Whitehorse Wildland Provincial Park following bear tracks (had long since gone) until we were waist deep in snow along the Whitehorse Falls Trail. Along the way we met up with a Pika, a male Spruce Grouse with a vibrant red head, and a Ruffed Grouse (pictured). In all a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
